The Sundown E Series was made to be the highest performance subwoofer line in it's price category. Low end extension was the number one design goal as you can see the E8 can extend to under 30 Hz in a vented enclosure! Ordered the soundqubed hds212 which later found out SSA was out of stock. Contacted them and got this subject shipped out the next day! I can say right off the bat it's underrated. I'm sure it could handle 700 daily. It loves the lows very solid and well built.
Had 2 xfl 12 American Bass metered at 142 on 480 watts . We switched to Sa 12s metered 143 on same power. Then E series 12s 143.5 at 480 watts. Results for me are there .
A bit disappointed. Was expecting more from this Sub
these are definitely the subs to buy if your looking for a good sounding, really solid and heavy sub for a good price. you can easily see the quality by just holding it they use alot of air and you might as well buy a different subwoofer if your not going to put it in a ported box. but it is really worth it for the price there sold at. I'm giving 2 of these 12" subwoofers 1200 watts so thats only 100 watts over their rating and they can definitely take a little bit more. if your going to go over 800 watts you should probably buy some sa's. If your looking for bass so strong your whole vehcle is flexing then you should probably get some sa's or stronger, also keep in mind all of sundowns subwoofers power ratings are underrated
Well, I've had the subwoofer for about a week now (which really isn't long enough to write a full review), and it sounds spectacular! To be honest, this is only my second subwoofer, so I really don't have much experience with subwoofers in general, but this thing easily pounds a whole lot harder than my Pioneer 10" ever did (I only have the Sundown on a 400w amplifier). Right now, I have the subwoofer in a 3.3 cubic foot box tuned to 26hz box that I built for the 10", so not really designed for this woofer, yet its output still surprises me. Once I get it in the T-line I'm planning for it, I'm sure it will only sound that much better and hit that much harder! I'm glad I went for this rather than the SA12, because not only does this thing hit more than hard enough, it sound absolutely great doing it. It never misses a beat. I didn't realize all the bass details I was missing with my 10" pioneer. I would definitely recommend 100%. This is far from an entry level subwoofer. (by the way, awesome customer service, wouldn't hesitate to purchase from here again)
I recently purchased a pair of sundown E 12's from you guys and could not be more happy. I ordered them right before SBN and still got them quick. Thank you guys!!
