The Sundown E Series was made to be the highest performance subwoofer line in it's price category. Low end extension was the number one design goal as you can see the E8 can extend to under 30 Hz in a vented enclosure! incredible , awesome .. these CANNOT be beat
You can beat the price tag on this with the amount of kicking bass it hums at you. Pair it with a ported box and it's on like donkey kong. Of course there's other subs out there That hit or sound better but not for this price.
these where my first subs I ever bought and would defiantly always stick with sundown from now on. I have had these now for about 10 months and let me tell you these are fantastic subs for anyone looking to get into some bass. I just ordered the SA-15 so it will be replacing my 2 Ev2 10's.
I've been in car audio for almost 15 years, worked in the industry professionally for 5 years, and have owned, sold, or installed RF, MTX, Sony, Blaupunkt, Clarion, JL, Boston Acoustics, MB Quart, and dozens of others, but I have never seen a sub at this price point do what these can do. I have 2 E10s in 2.5 cubes tuned to 35 hz and these do everything. Tight, precise, and punchy on rock/metal music and loud and boomy on bass music/techno. The only downside to these is the low end extension could be better (but its not really bad either), but that is normal for a 10 inch. I'm sure the 12 and 15 don't have this issued. I'm also not a big fan of the stamped basket, but it is sufficient and helps to meet the price point. Very heavy and strong motor, and I think the power handling is likely under-rated. I've got an estimated 1200-1300 RMS running two, and they take everything I can dish out. I am definitely digging Sundown products.
I played these on the Crescendo BC2000 they held up for probably a week. I could have kept them unblown if i only didnt play em too hard. These subs can take it.
I got this sub during the Feb. sale for $85. Can't beat the price/rms/quality anywhere. Pictures of this sub do not do it any justice at all. You got to see it in person to really appreciate it. Sounds okay in the sealed box(which is a little small for it) I have it in on 500 watts rms. Can't wait to upgrade to a ported or maybe even a T-Line. SSA has wonderful costumer service as well. Don't be afraid to live chat with them or leave them a message at all.
