Like its namesake these HIPPO Subwoofers are quite formidable in stature yet still nimble enough to deliver that low end punch great systems require. HIPPO series Subwoofers employ Dual 4 Ω, 2.5” high temperature, over-sized voice coils enabling a power handling capability of 500 Watts RMS / 1000 Watts Peak. HIPPO series Subwoofers have unusually deep Diamond polished Cast Aluminum baskets with double stacked Strontium Magnets. Front and center are Kevlar Fiber Reinforced Non-Pressed Paper Cones with an industrial machined stitched edge embedded into the cone’s Foam surround for added strength. Additionally, dual over-sized mirror image Poly / Nomex Spiders are utilized to insure linear alignment of the voice coils in the magnetic gap and maximum excursion under extreme conditions.
