Clear allA truck has more subwoofer space than it looks, but only if the box is shaped for it: under the rear seat of a crew cab, behind the seat of a regular cab, in place of a center console. Xtreme Enclosures builds ported boxes for exact cab and year ranges so the box uses every inch and still leaves the seat usable. Chevrolet and GMC trucks are the deepest section (1999 to 2006 Silverado extended cab, 2007 to 2013 crew cab and newer), followed by Ford F-150 and Super Duty, RAM quad and crew cab, Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, and Nissan Titan.
For a trunk or a cargo area, a universal box gives you the most volume and port area per dollar. Single 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 inch and dual 8, 10, 12 and 15 inch ported enclosures are the core of the range, with sealed boxes for installs that want a smaller footprint and tighter response. Listings give the outside dimensions, and net volume and tuning where the builder publishes them, so you can check the fit before you order.
The best enclosure is the one designed around your woofer's parameters rather than its cutout diameter. Basshead Supply builds ported boxes for named Sundown Audio, DC Audio, Resilient Sounds, American Bass, Trinity, JL Audio and Kicker subwoofers, 8 to 18 inch. If you already own the sub, start there.
A flat pack kit ships as precision-cut panels you assemble with glue and screws, which cuts freight cost and lets a large box travel as a compact carton. If nothing off the shelf fits your vehicle or your woofer, our custom enclosure design service produces a build plan for your exact sub, space and tuning target; you or a local shop build it.
Enclosures are excluded from the free-shipping offer on orders over $199; freight is calculated at checkout from box size and your address. Flat pack kits are the least expensive to ship. Boxes built to order carry a build time; the listing or our team can give a current estimate.
Each Xtreme Enclosures listing names the cab style and model years it was built for (for example 2007 to 2013 Silverado crew cab). Match all three: make, cab and year range. If your truck has a factory subwoofer, a rear-seat storage system or a lifted seat, mention it and we will confirm.
Ported (vented) boxes are louder and play lower for the same amplifier power, at the cost of size. Sealed boxes are smaller, tighter and more forgiving of tuning mistakes. Most subwoofers sold for car audio are designed for ported boxes, and most of the boxes here are ported.
No, unless the listing is a loaded enclosure and says so. Enclosures are sold empty; pair one with a subwoofer from the subwoofer collection, or ask us to match a sub to the box you have chosen.
Yes. The custom enclosure design service takes your subwoofer model, the space you have and your tuning goal and returns a build plan. For the popular subs, Basshead Supply already has a finished box built for that model.
A finished subwoofer box is large and heavy, and freight on it costs more than the free-shipping offer can absorb. The exact shipping cost shows at checkout before you pay. Flat pack kits ship as compact cartons and are the cheapest way to get a large box delivered.
