Great SQ sub with plenty of output
I've owned my own shop and been through many subs. I got the 15 inch Flatlyne and put it into a 3 cubed box tuned to 35hz with plenty of port area. I have always made my own boxes but table saw and router and nail gun are in storage and did not want to mess with it. Got the box from mobilesoundworks and it is well made, 3/4 MDF etc no internal bracing and they did not router the port opening on either end which is no big deal with the power 400 watts I am giving the sub. It is being powered by an AudioControl D-4.800 giving the sub 400 watts at 4 ohms dual 2 ohm sub wired up to 4. I have mid level Morels up front getting 125 rms per side. from channels 1/2 of the Audiocontrol 4 channel which has an internal DSP which is very cool. Sub blends perfectly with the front stage in my Toyota Sequoia. Sub is crossed around 75hz @24db's and fronts are around the same on the high side. I did some minor time alignment for the sub and with the remote level knob from the Audiocontrol amp it's easy to dial in just right. The sub blends so well it sounds like the bass and midbass is all coming from the front doors. It hits clean and clear and has more of the upper bass than I would have thought which helps it blend. I love the sub it is so clear and accurate and at at a great price. I'm sure I could put more watts to it with one of my Ground Zero Amps or Mmats but at 400 watts it has great output since it is very efficient and light weight.
